The Word of God says, "Before she (Zion) travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child." Isaiah 66:7 Then, in the story of Hannah, in the first chapter of I Samuel we see that it was through prayer, fasting and travail that she succeeded in moving heaven. Hannah birthed her son "in the Spirit" before she delivered him in the flesh.
In the book of Acts we find the very familiar scripture, "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all of one accord in one place." Acts 2:1 But saints of God we must always remember that they were "of one accord" in the spirit of brokenness to self, in obedience to Him, praying and seeking the Lord with all of their hearts. It was in that spiritual atmosphere that the Lord was able to send the " sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind."
We at Mariposa Revival Center know that we cannot make revival happen. As Michael Brown says, "Revival is not something man works up, but something God sends down." However, we are hungry enough to pray and fast. We have been doing, to the best of our ability, the things the word tells us to do to open the heavenlies. For several years a small group of believers have been doing spiritual warfare at
MRC, and praying for revival. On May 1st of this year we proclaimed a spiritual "May Day" over Mariposa and called a corporate fast of "forty days of prayer and fasting." The messages from the pulpit have focused on subjects like: repentance, sanctification, holiness, hunger and brokenness.
Now our prayer is, "And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy Holy Child Jesus." Acts 4:29&30
