The "Feast of Fire Revival"
1996 ~ Afterglow ~ Glory ~ Hunger ... and
the Beginning of a Flood!
1996 was a year of a mixture of awesome afterglow and ministering in a
new revelation of the Holy Spirit and glory from the previous years
outpouring at Mariposa Revival Center. This was all combined with the
longing and travail for another "Visitation of The Holy Spirit."
Record Storm Blast California
In the meantime, by the end of the year, California experienced a series
of abnormally freezing cold storms with extremely heavy snows in the
mountains. The snow pack was unusually deep at relatively low
altitudes. There was several feet of snow pack at the three and four
thousand foot elevations with possibly twenty and thirty foot snow
drifts at the ten to fourteen thousand foot level, which is almost
unheard of. Then, on New Years Eve, a "pineapple express" came in off
of the south pacific that was also a very large storm. However this one
was very warm and brought heavy rains all the way up to the eleven
thousand foot elevations ... which is also almost unheard of.
The Flood
By January 1 and 2, 1997 the state of California was in a severe state
of flood. Although many of the cities like Modesto and Sacramento were
hit very hard by the flooding rivers, the worst hit was Yosemite
National Park, which is in Mariposa County. Yosemite Valley and the
Merced River were flooded, the roads were washed out and thousands of
people were trapped. Books were written about the "Hundred Year
Flood." It took weeks, and ultimately rescue helicopters, to finally
get all the people out to safety. Construction crews worked 24 hours a
day on Highway 140, the Mariposa/Yosemite highway, for more than a year,
before they could open it to the public. California suffered with flood
waters for many weeks.
A Spiritual Flood Prophesied
On a Sunday morning, during that time of natural flooding, as Pastor
Falany stepped to the pulpit to deliver the Sunday message, the Holy
Spirit said .. "tell the people that what is happening in the
natural, I am about to do in the Spirit. A flood of My Spirit is coming
to this area."
A few short weeks after that "word" the Feast of Fire Revival broke out at Mariposa Revival Center. The Fire fell again at the little Mariposa church with even more intensity than before. However, this time the stage is set to involve more people and more places with a far reaching effect on the body of Christ in north central California.
Revival Was Already In The Air
The Falanys and several other pastor friends from other California
cities had just returned home from the Pensacola Outpouring at the
Brownsville Assembly of God in Florida. They didn't all attend together
but they all visited the outpouring within a week or so of each other.
Although there was already a "rumbling in the heavens' the Florida
experience fanned the flames. As the Holy Spirit was moving on pastors
hearts, Pastor Falany had asked the group of central California pastors
to meet for coffee at a Merced, Ca. coffee shop. He asked to meet
together to discuss putting together a series of meetings, in the San
Joaquin Valley somewhere, with the unity and support of all their
churches, and see what God would do. That meeting for discussion was
scheduled to take place on Monday morning February 23 in Merced.
Like Azusa Street ~ It didn't Just Happen!
It is interesting to note the chronological order of things. Before the
Azusa Street Revival broke out in Los Angeles at the Bonnie Brae House
in April of 1906 there was "a rumbling in the heavens," or as
Elijah said, "there is a sound of abundance of rain." Frank
Bartleman, known as the architect of the Azusa Street Revival, had
written Evan Roberts of the 1904 Welsh Revival for revival
instructions. He was also ministering all over southern California that
revival was coming soon. Rev. Joseph Swale, of The First Baptist Church
of Las Angeles, had just visited Wales for three weeks with a fire in
his heart to learn all he could from Evan Roberts. People were moving
to the LA area because they felt something was going to happen there.
Many groups were praying throughout the city. The entire city was on
the verge of a great spiritual happening. The atmosphere was like Holy
Ghost fumes when William Seymour arrived in L.A. God had just recently
prepared him with a fresh new revelation of the baptism of the Holy
Ghost and the evidence of speaking in other tongues at Charles Parham's
bible school in Houston Texas. God was revealing His plan to His people
before He poured out the fire! Amos 3:7
The Lord Set The Stage In Mariposa
While in Pensacola, the Falanys had met and befriended a retired married
couple (while all parties mentioned were buffeting the flesh at
Pensacola's anointed Barnhills Country Buffet) that were lay members of
the Brownsville prayer team. They were originally southern Californians
transplanted to Florida. They weren't ministers, but the Falanys
invited them to come share in their church the next time they visited
California. That date for this couple to share was ultimately set for
February 22 and 23, a Sunday night and Monday night. They were
scheduled to arrive in Mariposa just before the evening service on
Sunday the 22nd. The Falanys thought it would just be a nice little
bible study/ministry kind of a get together for a couple of evenings.
In the meantime, Pastor Henry was asked to preach for one of the pastor friends on that Sunday morning, February 22, in a neighboring mountain community. The pastor was going to be out of town during the morning service. At first Henry said he couldn't because he felt revival was about to break out and he really wanted to minister at home that Sunday morning. However, the pastor friend persisted and needed the help, so, under friendly protest, Henry covered the service for him while Grace covered the home front. As it turned out, the Holy Spirit showed up in an uncommon way in Henry's service as he preached and ministered in his pastor friend's church. People were out "under the power" and "drunk in the Spirit" and being touched by the Holy Spirit, and joy was manifesting all over the building. The Fire was falling! At the same time it was also happening at home with Grace, as she ministered to the home flock. This was definitely a time of outpouring and revival. Convinced that they wanted more, the pastor of the church that Henry ministered in decided to bring his flock to Mariposa for the Sunday night service with the visiting couple from Pensacola. His church did the worship for the two services.
God Knows How To Do It! ~ Spontaneous
Combustion
It was like synergy and spontaneous combustion all mixed together. The
Fire fell that night and the people of both churches were mightily
overcome by the Holy Spirit! God showed up in a powerful way. It was
explosive and contagious! People had to be carried to their cars and be
driven home and put to bed. Lives were changed that night. Another
revival was under way!
Now Back To The Pre-Planned Pastors Meeting
Remember a group of pastors are already planning to meet in Merced (40
miles from Mariposa) Monday morning the 23rd to discuss putting
together a meeting to see what God would do.
As Henry chaired the meeting, he and his pastor friend, and the visiting man from Pensacola, shared of the events of the day before and suggested strongly that all of the pastors and ministers attend the second service that night in Mariposa. They did. They were not disappointed.
The Holy Spirit Re-Fires Ministries
God showed up again and everyone was swept into the River of God.
Pastors were laying on the floor of the little mountain church in
uncontrollable laughter, drunkenness and weeping. The New Wine and joy
was being poured out for these men and women of God and new wineskins
were being formed. It was an awesome sight to behold. The Fire was
falling once more in Mariposa. And now, ministries from numerous
communities were connecting to it.
God Gives A Word
One of the pastors was standing against the wall praying and observing
the "Glorious mess" when an unexplained wind blew across his back and
neck. The same thing had happened to him a week earlier in Pensacola
when God told him that, "He was using the Pensacola Outpouring
for the nations." This time the Lord told him that "what He was
doing in Pensacola for the nations, He was doing in this church for this
region of California."
Where Do We Go From Here?
It was toward the end of that service that night that Henry was walking
around, through and over all the bodies on the floor and pondering what
to do next. The sounds of laughter, travail and worship were filling
the air. There was no doubt, this was a move of the Holy Spirit.
However there was no plan to meet the next night. Who would come to an
out-of-the-way church with no previous advertising during the mid-week?
What to do. It was then that the pastor he ministered for the day
before reached up off the floor, from his drunken state, and begged
Pastor Falany to not stop the meetings. He said "I'll have my whole
church here tomorrow night if you keep it going." So Henry took that as
his "burning bush" and went to the mic and announced that the
meeting would continue the next night. Everyone shouted hallelujah!
God showed up again the next night, and again, and again, etc. No advertisements or promotions, no well known or planned speakers. Just hungry pastors and people, with the catalyst of two unknown non-ordained prayer team members from Brownsville. The little church was packed to capacity and beyond capacity every night. The prayer team had to take people into the foyer room and kitchen to pray for them. All the chairs were stacked against the wall and walking room was almost non existent as people were manifesting all over the building.
The Revival Outgrew The Church
As it was obvious that the little church couldn't hold all the people,
and that God had connected all those pastors from different cities, it
was time to consider a bigger picture.
The Revival Moves Through Ten California
Cities
Another pastors meeting was called for the coffee shop in Merced to
discuss where to go from here. After prayer, praise and worship and
communion, it was decided to take the revival to all the cities that
were represented by the pastors of the group, with Pastor Falany as the
revival leader. Pastor Henry led every service but usually delegated
and honored the different pastors by asking them to deliver many of the
main messages and lead much of the Holy Spirit ministry time. The first
of those meetings was held in a valley town church, but again the crowds
were too big. From that time on the group rented fairgrounds buildings,
community halls and university buildings for the meetings. None of the
churches involved were big enough to hold the crowds. Thousands of
people were touched by God during those meetings. Miracles happened,
souls were saved and many lives and ministries were changed forever.
The revival went around central California for months, visiting ten cities and some of them more than once. The weekly meetings were held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in each city. Each week they moved the revival to another town. At one point, more than 30 ministers and 20 churches had joined the unofficial group of Pastor Henry's "Feast of Fire" Leadership Council. As it was centrally located, the Council met almost every week in that Merced coffee shop conference room, to pray, take communion, and discuss and manage the revival.
The Revival Comes Home
Then after almost 40 services the pastors voted to take it back to it's
home in Mariposa. The meetings continued at Mariposa Revival
Center for the
rest of that year and well into 1998. Pastors and worship teams from
the participating churches continued to support the meetings by
alternating ministering with Pastor Falany. It was an uncommon move of
God and it did and uncommon work of unity amongst the churches and
ministries and communities in north central California. To this day,
many ministries that met and bonded in relationships during the Feast of
Fire Revival are very closely connected and are still working together
for the Kingdom.
Although it is in it's early stages, Mariposa Revival Center has moved into a time of uncommon healings, dental miracles, deliverances and signs and wonders. The book of Acts type of revival is now forming in the ministry. More than 200 healings have been reported by the people attending the services there.
The church is now known around the state for it's "presence worship" and powerful moves of the Holy Spirit. People come from everywhere to experience the Glory and presence of the Holy Spirit. Every time the church holds Holy Ghost Renewal services people drive from places like the Bay Area, northern and southern California and Nevada to attend services there. Many report of entering the presence when they approach the building by automobile. Services generally last for hours and when they are over the Glory is so strong no one wants to leave.
The Mariposa Healing Team
Pastor Henry is now training "The Mariposa Healing Team" and
preparing them to take it to the streets and the market place. MRC is
also preparing to open "Healing Rooms" in the spirit of the John G. Lake
"Healing Rooms" in Spokane, Washington.
You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet!
The Lord has told the Mariposa church to get ready for a BIG move of the
Holy Spirit! The outpouring that is coming is going to dwarf everything
of the past! Get Ready! Get Ready! Get Ready!
A few of the proven prophets that have spoken that Mariposa Revival Center is a place of revival, Pool of Bethesda, or well spring of healing , watering hole, revival fathering center to the nations, etc., are: Jerry Savelle, Todd Bentley, Jean Krisle, Chad Taylor, Julio Conrad Lampan, Claudio Freidson, Mary Glazier, Bob Brasset, Charles Ndifon, Michael Maixner, plus others too numerous to mention.
